Strike a pose in Sri Lanka. One of the most versatile ways to dress is draped cloth, from Sari and Sarong to Tunic and beyond. Not just for special occasions, and not just traditional custom, you will see draped fabric on teachers, priests, office workers and women in paddy fields, elderly gentlemen on bikes and fisherman catching their dinner in nets. Find them in Silk and cotton, no buttons or zips, brightly coloured yards of material, gold and silver threads or a simple weave. Fun fact, the Victorians brought in petticoats and tops during their colonisation of the island…
