The Conscious Travel Foundation

Through Philanthropy and Climate Action, we can collectively drive 'Travel' forward as the pleasurable and positively impactful activity it should be, inspiring us personally and professionally to be empathetic towards other cultures, build meaningful global connections and protect and regenerate our beautiful planet.

In March 2025 we joined The Conscious Travel Foundation, a non-profit membership community that promotes meaningful, positive impact travel. Through education, collaboration and thought leadership, TCTF empowers members to make positive changes to their travel businesses, whilst raising funds for grassroots projects around the world.

Kalukanda House advocates for female empowerment through personal and economic independence programs that offer education and opportunity. In 2023 we launched HERA Project X as we saw a need to change an outdated narrative about women in Sri Lanka. HERA Project X is a platform shining a light on Sri Lankan female creative entrepreneurs who are breaking barriers and innovating world class solutions to pressing problems, while offering grass roots social impact to causes close to their hearts. We have also endorsed and supported Their Future Today since 2019, a grass roots charity that seeks to keep families together and out of institutions. In 2025, a move towards a long term goal of introducing Foster Care programs is taking shape.

The Conscious Travel Foundation says "Our approach is centred around grass-roots charitable initiatives across the globe, showcasing the potential to generate revenue through tourism activities. This allows us to facilitate an equitable spread of donations and ensure our members have a meaningful connection to the causes they are supporting"
